Following the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), the press became aware of more and more official and military UFO sightings in the United States. However, the latest case uncovered differs significantly from the previous ones.

According to the classical classification, UFO sightings were first classified into three and then five categories based on the so-called Hynek system. The first type of close encounter is an object seen with one's own eyes from about 100 meters, the second is some left behind a physical trace, the third is the detection of a UFO, i.e. the alien being abducted, the fourth is the abduction of an observer, and the fifth is direct contact or communication with aliens. Let’s say, in the light of the above, Steven Spielberg’s famous film, Third Type Encounters, got the wrong title, because the story is about a fifth type of close encounter with communication and all.

Returning to the incident after detecting the “drones,” Kidd and then the other destroyers in the convoy also turned off their actively radiating devices, which is a logical reaction near an object of obvious origin that is apparently gathering information. Due to the increased number of sightings, the Mk87s were activated according to a short entry in the logbook. Since there are several systems on the ship with this name (!), The text probably referred to the Mark 87 electro-optical fire control system, which is a large tower with large infrared and optical sensors above the bridge. Due to the unidentified objects appearing in the evening and poor visibility, this was again a completely logical step. A military expert also considered the question of the origin of drones. These are American devices. This would mean that one U.S. government agency is making covert developments from other organizations as well. Luis Alizondo, head of a former state organization that conducts UFO sightings, said if there was such an American program, he would know about it.

What is certain is that thanks to SNOOPIEs, passive sensors, and even nearby shore-based radars, the Navy Command has a wealth of information at its disposal, and President Trump’s order that all U.S. a public body should disclose its UFO sighting data. We are looking forward to it!
